Ministry, Mission or Missionary Membership in the Christian Information Service is open to all Christian individuals or organizations engaged in an approved Special Project or ministry compatible with the objectives of CIS-INC. Please complete the information form below and submit with your annual dues of $29. (You will be directed to a page that allows you to immediately pay your dues online.) Note mission or ministry members are expected to make a Sustaining Membership pledge in addition to their Annual Dues within 90 days of acceptance.

FROM THE CIS CONSTITION AND BYLAWS

General Objective of CIS – As adapted from Article I, Section 2

GENERAL OBJECTIVE. The general goal of this organization will be to overcome a lack of information exchange between Christian churches and organizations, develop structures that encourage professional standards among Christian communicators and establish a Christian witness in secular media through (a) supporting missionary staff, (b) news exchange services, (c) worthwhile communication projects, (d) promoting media consciousness in Christian churches and organizations, (e) inspiring and training a Christian communication corps, and (f) providing a fellowship for professional Christian communicators.

Statement of Faith – Adapted from Article II

This corporation declares that its only real basis for unity is the common faith and determination of its members to follow our Lord Jesus Christ and His teachings as revealed by the Holy Spirit and recorded in the Holy Scriptures by the apostles and prophets before them.

The Nicene Creed

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one being with the Father. Through Him all things were made. For us and for our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit He became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered death and was buried. On the third day He rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and His kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son, He is worshipped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy, universal and apostolic church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. AMEN.

WHAT ABOUT SUSTAINING MEMBERSHIP?

A sustaining membership pledge is also expected for ministry or mission members based on a deposit against the level of services to be shared with other members of CIS-INC monthly. However, this will be mutually agreed upon after an evaluation of your ongoing monthly needs is completed.

Sustaining memberships begin a $1 a day or $30 a month. There is no upper limit. You can fulfill you pledge online using your credit card or by regular mail.

I have read of the Objectives of CIS from the Bylaws (above) and will do my best to fulfill them in my life and vocation as the Lord enables. I believe without mental reservation in the Statement of Faith and if my personal statement of faith differs substantially, I will explain below in the Comments box. Therefore, I seek to unite in faith and converge with you in your general mission for the sake of the Kingdom of God.
